About the AMSS
The Adelaide Medical Students' Society (AMSS) was founded to represent and protect the interests of medical students studying at Adelaide University.
The AMSS currently represents over seven hundred and fifty student members that span all six years of the MBBS degree. The AMSS supports its members on an academic, social and political level. This is achieved via the Society's affiliation with the Australian Medical Students' Association (AMSA), Sponsors, Medical Program staff and most importantly its strong links with the medical student body itself.

The Benevolent Fund
Aim
The Adelaide Medical Students' Society Benevolent Fund exists to financially benefit members of the Adelaide Medical Students' Society who demonstrate financial need.
Establishment and Viability
The Adelaide Medical Students' Society Benevolent Fund has been established with funds from the AMSS General Fund and its Major Sponsors; Eastwoods Chartered Accountants, Ramsay Group and the Institute of Medical and Veterinary Science. The Adelaide Medical Students' Society Benevolent Fund has a starting balance of $6,000, held in a cash management fund. The minimum balance of the fund shall not fall below $5000. To this end, the amount given to recipients of the Fund will reflect the individual's financial situation and the need to ensure the longevity of the Fund.
It is expected that future AMSS Committees will contribute to the fund annually with the possibility of ongoing support from external sources. It will be understood that while no repayment of assistance received from the Fund is required, it is anticipated that recipients will contribute to the Fund once their financial position has improved.

- Demonstrate true financial need
Recipients shall be expected to sign a memorandum of understanding acknowledging,

- No legal responsibility to repay the funds
- An anticipated contribution to the fund once financially viable
